CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Interstat) — The North Carolina Tar Heels erupted for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to overcome an early deficit and defeat the Indiana Hoosiers 9-4 on Friday evening at Boshamer Stadium in the season opener for both teams. The game, played before 3,892 fans, turned decisively after the Hoosiers had scratched across two runs in the top of the sixth to take a 4-3 lead.
