ALGOOD, Tenn. (Interstat) — Morehead State defeated Tennessee Tech 7-6 on Saturday afternoon at Bush Stadium at Averitt Express Baseball Complex. The Eagles scored in four separate innings, beginning with Nicholas Griffith’s two-run homer in the second. Alex Kean added a solo shot in the fourth. After Tennessee Tech’s Jackson Rooker belted a grand slam in the fifth to cut the lead to 7-4, Morehead State answered with a run in the sixth and Murray’s solo homer in the seventh. Jorsixt Jimenez’s two-run homer in the eighth pulled the Golden Eagles within one, but Griffith’s sacrifice fly in the ninth provided the final margin.

Connor Davis earned the win with four scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out four. Josh Furtado, Bradley Poynter and Carter Owens combined for 4 1/3 innings of relief. Morehead State outhit Tennessee Tech 13-6. The Eagles improved to 31-22, while the Golden Eagles fell to 18-37. The series began Thursday with Morehead State winning 7-4 and 4-3.
