Meola’s Homer Lifts Oklahoma State Past Arizona 7‑5
AIR FORCE ACADEMY, CO (Interstat) — Aidan Meola homered and drove in four runs as Oklahoma State rallied past Arizona 7-5 on Saturday at O’Brate Stadium. The Cowboys improved to 36-19 while the Wildcats fell to 19-34.
Meola, who went 2 for 4, delivered a three-run blast in the fourth inning to cap a six-run outburst that erased a 5-1 deficit. Remo Indomenico also homered in the frame, and Brueggemann added a solo shot for Oklahoma State.
Arizona jumped ahead early. Dom Rodriguez hit a two-run homer in the fifth and finished 1 for 3 with three RBIs. The Wildcats piled up 10 hits but stranded runners against Stormy Rhodes, who struck out six over seven innings for the win.
Noah Wech and Mario Pesca each tossed a scoreless inning of relief to seal the victory. Matthew Martinez, Jack Lafflam and Patrick Morris combined for five innings of two-run relief for Arizona. Rodriguez’s fifth-inning blast brought the Wildcats within 7-5, but the Cowboys’ bullpen held firm.
