SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Interstat) — Aidan Coleman pitched six innings of shutout ball and Abilene Christian blasted three home runs to beat Sacramento State 7-2 on Friday at John Smith Field in a Western Athletic Conference matchup.

The Wildcats (21-22) jumped ahead in the first when Nick Arias crushed a three-run homer. Grant Watkins added a grand slam in the sixth, finishing 1-for-3 with four RBIs. Arias went 2-for-4 with the homer and three RBIs.

Coleman allowed two unearned runs, struck out four and did not yield a hit over six innings. Baron Mannis tossed three scoreless frames with three strikeouts.

Sacramento State (21-26) answered in the third with solo homers from Sam Harry and Ryan Ellis, but managed only five hits. Devin James struck out three in a scoreless inning for the Hornets.

The teams continue their series Saturday.
