Marist at Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Marist Red Foxes visit the Albany Great Danes on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, for a non-conference afternoon game at Varsity Field. First pitch is scheduled for the evening under partly cloudy skies, with the temperature expected at 75 degrees.

Marist (15-25) arrives having lost six of its last seven games, including a 13-7 defeat at Merrimack on Sunday. The Red Foxes have struggled away from home, dropping five of six decisions on their current road trip. Albany (12-22) has fared only slightly better, splitting a three-game series with NJIT over the weekend. The Great Danes took the series opener 1-0 on Saturday before falling 6-0 in Sunday’s finale.

Third baseman Noel Rivera is a player to watch for Marist. In Sunday’s loss at Merrimack, Rivera went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, continuing an up-and-down stretch. Over his last 10 games, Rivera is batting .333 (12-for-36) with one home run and five RBIs. He has hit safely in five of his last six contests.

For Albany, right-hander Brian Cadieux has been the team’s most reliable arm of late. In Sunday’s 6-0 loss to NJIT, Cadieux tossed five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out three. Over his last two appearances, he has allowed one earned run over nine innings, lowering his season ERA. Cadieux is expected to start Tuesday.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 5-4 victory for Marist, but both teams have shown the ability to score in bunches. Marist posted an 18-3 win over Merrimack on April 25, while Albany scored 13 runs against Siena on April 17.

Following Tuesday’s game, Marist returns home to host Sacred Heart for a three-game series beginning Friday. Albany travels to Maryland-Baltimore County for a three-game set starting Friday. The two teams will meet again May 5 in Poughkeepsie, New York.
