JACKSON, Miss. (Interstat) — Will Brown’s third-inning home run and a decisive 10th-inning sacrifice fly by Justen Crews lifted Florida A&M to an 8-7 victory over Jackson State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball game that ended late Saturday at Braddy Field.

The Rattlers, who evened their record at 16-16, squandered a seven-run lead as the Tigers staged a furious comeback, scoring five times in the seventh and eighth innings. Jackson State tied the game with an unearned run in the ninth.

Florida A&M starter Garrett Workman was dominant, allowing one earned run on no hits over six innings with five strikeouts. Jackson State’s Jayden Lopez also pitched six strong innings, yielding one run on two hits.

The Tigers fell to 13-18. The teams conclude their series Sunday.
