Harvard at Yale
Preview: Harvard at Yale, Game 1 of Doubleheader
WEST HAVEN, Conn. (Interstat) — A stark contrast in fortunes will be on display Saturday when the Yale Bulldogs host the Harvard Crimson in the opener of an Ivy League doubleheader at Yale Field.
First pitch is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature of 51 degrees Fahrenheit.
Yale (17-9) enters riding high after a 20-0 midweek rout of New Haven, showcasing one of the conference’s top records. Harvard (5-17) seeks to reverse its trajectory after a 4-1 loss to Northeastern on Wednesday.
A key matchup will feature bullpen arms. Harvard will look to right-hander Davis Kahn, who has been a bright spot despite the team’s struggles. In his last five appearances, Kahn has allowed just one hit over his last 9.2 innings pitched, striking out 11. He was dominant in relief against Northeastern, recording four strikeouts in 1.2 hitless innings.
Yale will counter with reliever Nicholas West, who has been equally effective lately. Over his last five outings, West has surrendered only one hit in 6.1 innings, posting a 0.00 ERA in four of those appearances. He closed the New Haven blowout with three scoreless innings.
The Bulldogs’ offense is potent, averaging over nine runs per game in their last five contests. Harvard’s bats have been quieter, scoring three or fewer runs in seven of their last ten games.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, Yale is projected to win 7-4.
The rivalry doubleheader continues Sunday at Yale Field before both teams diverge in their Ivy schedules next weekend.
