NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — The East Tennessee State Buccaneers will look to build on their series-opening victory when they face the Belmont Bruins in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium.

First pitch for Game 1 is set for Saturday, April 11, 2026, under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature of 77 degrees.

The Buccaneers (22-9) continued their strong season with a 6-3 win over Belmont on Friday. ETSU starter Tadan Bell was dominant in that victory, tossing six hitless innings while allowing two earned runs and striking out six. First baseman Tristan Curless added two RBIs.

Bell, a key player to watch for ETSU, has been excellent in recent outings. In his last four appearances, he has twice thrown at least five innings without allowing a hit, including the performance against Belmont.

The Bruins (12-22) seek to halt a skid after Friday’s loss. Despite the defeat, reliever Sam Heyman was a bright spot, throwing five strong innings of one-hit, shutout ball with six strikeouts. Heyman, a player to watch for Belmont, has been a reliable arm out of the bullpen, having not allowed an earned run in his last eight appearances spanning 14 innings.

Belmont’s offense was led Friday by catcher Michael Sprockett, who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and first baseman Jake Maddox, who homered.

The teams’ recent trajectories contrast sharply. East Tennessee State has won eight of its last ten games. Belmont has struggled, dropping eight of its last ten.

Following the doubleheader, ETSU will visit Georgia on Tuesday before hosting The Citadel for a three-game series next weekend. Belmont will host Middle Tennessee on Tuesday before a three-game home set against Evansville.
