North Carolina Outlasts Clemson in 14-Inning ACC Marathon Behind Glauber’s Stellar Start

CLEMSON, S.C. (Interstat) — Caden Glauber threw six hitless innings and North Carolina outlasted Clemson 6-4 in 14 innings in Atlantic Coast Conference baseball Saturday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The Tar Heels (29-6-1) built a 6-0 lead by the fourth inning, but the Tigers (23-13) chipped away, tying the game in the seventh. The score held until the 14th, when North Carolina pushed across two unearned runs on a sacrifice bunt and a throwing error by pitcher Justin LeGuernic.

Glauber, the top star, struck out six over his six dominant frames. Clemson’s Jacob Jarrell hit a solo homer in the fourth. The game lasted into the evening after an afternoon start. The teams combined for 24 hits.
