Manhattan at Dartmouth
HANOVER, N.H. (Interstat) — The Manhattan Jaspers (15-23) visit the Dartmouth Big Green (12-22) on Sunday afternoon at Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park. First pitch is scheduled under a forecast of 48 degrees and rain.
The teams split a doubleheader Saturday, May 2, with both games ending 0-0. The contests were not completed due to weather. Sunday’s game will decide the series.
Manhattan looks to rebound from an 8-5 loss to Canisius on April 26. Right-hander Joseph Duffield is a player to watch. He allowed two earned runs over 4.2 innings in that loss and threw 3.0 scoreless innings against Siena on April 12. Duffield has a 6.35 ERA over his last three appearances.
Dartmouth’s Trey Sejnoha earned a win April 29 against Merrimack, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings with six strikeouts. The right-hander has been inconsistent, allowing six earned runs against Brown on April 11 but posting 4.0 scoreless innings in his other two outings.
In Manhattan’s last win, an April 24 victory over Canisius, right fielder Justin Best went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI. For Dartmouth, outfielder Chris Miller drove in the winning run against Merrimack with a sacrifice fly.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-4 Dartmouth victory.
Manhattan travels to NJIT on Tuesday. Dartmouth hosts Yale in a three-game series May 9-10.
