Cincinnati at Wright State

CINCINNATI (27-15) AT WRIGHT STATE (17-19)

DAYTON, Ohio (Interstat) — The Cincinnati Bearcats, riding the hot bat of designated hitter Jack Natili, visit the Wright State Raiders for a midweek nonconference matchup Tuesday evening at Woerner Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. under clear skies with a game-time temperature of 49 degrees.

Cincinnati enters having won two of three on the road at UCF, including an 11-9 victory Sunday in which Natili put on a historic performance. The junior went 3 for 5 with three home runs and four RBIs, powering the Bearcats’ offense. For the season, Natili is hitting .412 (7-for-17) with four homers and eight RBIs over his last five games.

The Bearcats, who won the previous meeting this season 8-5 on March 31 in Cincinnati, have won seven of their last ten.

Wright State looks to snap a four-game skid after dropping three of four to Indiana State over the weekend. The Raiders fell 11-8 on Sunday despite a 2-for-4, two-RBI effort from right fielder Cy Turner, who homered. Turner has been a bright spot, collecting hits in five of his last six games with three home runs in that stretch.

The Raiders’ bullpen will be tested against a potent Cincinnati lineup. In Sunday’s loss, reliever Brett Denby provided a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-5 victory for the visiting Bearcats.

Following this contest, Cincinnati opens a three-game Big 12 series at home against West Virginia on Friday. Wright State begins Horizon League play at home against Milwaukee on Friday.
