WORCESTER, Mass. (Interstat) — Brady Bendik pitched seven no-hit innings and John Hooten hit a two-run homer to lead the Navy Midshipmen to a 3-2 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders on Friday in the first game of a Patriot League doubleheader.

Bendik allowed one earned run and struck out five, carrying a no-hit bid into the seventh before the Crusaders broke through. Hooten’s homer down the left-field line in the second inning provided the decisive runs off Holy Cross starter Jaden Wywoda, who allowed three runs over seven frames.

Navy improved to 23-14. Holy Cross fell to 16-20.
