Red Storm Rallies Past Pride in Afternoon Affair

NEW YORK (Interstat) — Saint John’s erased a four-run deficit with a seven-run fifth inning to defeat Hofstra 10-7 in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday afternoon at Jack Kaiser Stadium.

The Red Storm, who evened their record at 18-18, trailed 7-3 before sending 11 batters to the plate in the fifth. Shaun McMillan and Adam Agresti hit solo home runs, while Rob Mansour and Lewis Rodriguez each delivered two-run singles. Four Saint John’s relievers combined for 5 1/3 scoreless innings, with Nick Romer, Brady Clark and Carter Wall shutting the door.

Hofstra (11-18) scored five runs in the fifth, aided by three wild pitches, but could not hold the lead. The teams will meet again on April 28 at Hofstra.
