SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Interstat) — The Rhode Island Rams held off a late rally to defeat the Bryant Bulldogs 10-9 in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday afternoon.

Rhode Island built a large early lead, but Bryant chipped away. Ellis Garcia’s two-run homer in the sixth inning keyed the comeback attempt for the Bulldogs. The Rams’ offense produced consistently, however, to secure the road victory.

Bryant outhit Rhode Island 12-11 but left the potential tying run on base in the eighth. With the win, Rhode Island improved to 15-19. Bryant fell to 18-15.
