Lehigh Routs Navy in Patriot League Play, Snaps Skid Behind Treonze’s Stellar Relief
CAPE SAINT CLAIRE, Md. (Interstat) — Lehigh broke open a close game with a six-run eighth inning and defeated Navy 11-6 on Sunday afternoon in Patriot League baseball at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.
The Mountain Hawks (6-21) salvaged the final game of the series after dropping a doubleheader Saturday. The Midshipmen fell to 18-12.
Reliever Max Treonze earned the win for Lehigh with 4 1/3 dominant innings, allowing no hits and one earned run while striking out six. Navy’s Patrick Walsh hit a three-run homer in the third inning, and Victor Izquierdo added a two-run double.
Both teams finished with 10 hits. The result defied Interstat’s pregame projection, which heavily favored Navy.
