ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Interstat) — Brady Bendik fired seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts as Navy defeated Lehigh 8-0 on Saturday in the first game of a Patriot League doubleheader at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.

Bendik allowed just two hits, both to Lehigh’s Robbie Carvelli, to outduel Lehigh starter Sam Fairhurst. The Midshipmen broke open a 1-0 game with a seven-run sixth inning. Victor Izquierdo and Evan Brown each drove in two runs during the rally.

Navy improved to 17-11 overall. The Mountain Hawks managed only two hits total and fell to 5-20.
