ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Interstat) — Matt Archibald struck out 15 over 7 2/3 dominant innings as the Navy Midshipmen defeated the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 8-3 on Saturday at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium in the first game of a Patriot League doubleheader.

Archibald allowed just three hits and two earned runs, outdueling Lehigh’s Cole Leaman, who threw six no-hit innings with 10 strikeouts but took a no-decision. The game was tied at 3 before Navy erupted for five runs in the seventh inning. Evan Brown launched a two-run homer and Andrew Manning, who finished with three RBIs, added a two-run double in the frame.

Navy improved to 18-11 overall. Lehigh dropped to 5-21.
