Portland Pilots Shut Out Oregon Ducks Behind Stellar Pitching
EUGENE, Ore. (Interstat) — Portland’s pitching staff combined on a two-hit shutout Tuesday, stunning sixth-ranked Oregon 3-0 at PK Park. Aaron Louis, Logan Anderson and Alexander Via held the Ducks without a hit over the final 8 2/3 innings after starter Callum Young recorded one out.
Brady Bean provided all the offense needed with a solo home run in the third inning. Jonas Salk added a two-run homer in the ninth for insurance. The Ducks’ Miles Gosztola struck out seven but took the loss. The Pilots, who were projected to lose by Interstat, improved to 18-8. Oregon fell to 23-6. The teams meet again April 8 in Portland.
