PHOENIX (Interstat) — Landon Hairston launched two home runs and drove in three runs Monday, leading Arizona State to a 6-2 victory over San Diego State at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Hairston broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run shot in the fifth inning and added a solo homer in the seventh. His power backed a strong pitching performance from Colin Linder, who allowed one hit over four scoreless innings with six strikeouts for the Sun Devils.

Tyce Peterson provided all the offense for the Aztecs with two solo home runs. Arizona State improved to 21-8, while San Diego State fell to .500 at 15-15. The Sun Devils’ 10 hits outpaced the Aztecs’ five.
