HATTIESBURG, Miss. (Interstat) — Southern Mississippi rallied from a four-run deficit to defeat Troy 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Pete Taylor Park, securing the Sun Belt Conference series victory.

The Trojans built a 4-0 lead by the third inning on run-scoring hits from Aaron Piasecki and Blake Cavill. Davis Gillespie’s two-run homer in the bottom half began the Golden Eagles’ comeback.

Southern Mississippi tied it with two runs in the sixth before Tucker Stockman’s sacrifice fly in the seventh provided the winning run. Reliever Camden Sunstrom earned the win with four scoreless innings for the Golden Eagles (19-5). Troy starter Tommy Egan took the loss, allowing four runs over 5 2/3 innings. The Trojans fell to 10-13.
