Marist at Iona

MARIST, IONA SET FOR SUNDAY RUBBER MATCH IN MAAC SERIES

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (March 22, 2026) (Interstat) — The Marist Red Foxes and Iona Gaels will decide their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference series with a Sunday afternoon matchup at City Park.

First pitch is scheduled for the evening under cloudy skies with temperatures near 53 degrees.

The series is tied after split results this weekend. Iona (6-10) evened the set with a 5-3 victory Saturday, one day after Marist (6-15) secured a 1-0 win.

A marquee pitching rematch is anticipated. Marist is expected to start right-hander Tyler Hartley, who took the loss Saturday despite a unique line: 6 innings pitched, 0 hits, 5 earned runs, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. In his prior start, he threw 6 innings with 6 hits and 2 earned runs in a win over Manhattan.

Iona will likely counter with Luke Lang, who earned Saturday’s win with 5 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 2. His season has been uneven, including a rough outing March 8 where he allowed 3 earned runs without recording a full inning.

Offensively, Marist’s Nathan Lincoln drove in all three runs Saturday with a two-hit performance. For Iona, designated hitter Sean Stephenson provided the key blow with a 2-for-4, 3-RBI day.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Marist is projected to win 6-3.

Following Sunday’s contest, Marist hosts Saint John’s on Wednesday before a MAAC series with Siena next weekend. Iona welcomes Yale on Wednesday before traveling for a conference series at Niagara.
