ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Interstat) — Matt Archibald struck out seven over six innings and Navy used a pair of two-run hits to pull away from Bucknell for an 8-3 victory Saturday at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium in the opener of a Patriot League doubleheader.

The Midshipmen (15-7) erased an early deficit with a four-run third inning, highlighted by Tyler Cripe’s two-run single. Navy added two more in the sixth on Mason Ceccarelli’s two-run single. Archibald allowed three runs on three hits for the win. Bucknell (8-11) managed just three hits, with Garrett Mathias driving in a run on a sacrifice fly. Tyler Grenn pitched three perfect innings of relief for Navy.
