LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — Cashel Dugger hit a first-inning grand slam to break open the game and the UCLA Bruins cruised to a 12-2 victory over the Maryland Terrapins on Friday night at Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.

Dugger’s four-RBI blast off Maryland starter Lance Williams highlighted a five-run first inning for the Bruins. Logan Reddemann earned the win, allowing two runs over six innings with seven strikeouts. Williams took the loss.

The Bruins improved to 19-2 overall and opened Big Ten Conference play with a win. Maryland fell to 10-9. The teams continue their series Saturday.
