TEANECK, N.J. (Interstat) — A surging Fairleigh Dickinson squad hosts a Marist team riding its first winning streak of the season when the Knights and Red Foxes meet in a nonconference matchup Tuesday at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex.

First pitch is scheduled for the evening, with a forecast of 57 degrees and rain.

The Knights (8-7) have won five of their last six, including a three-game sweep of Coppin State over the weekend. Their offense is powered by Hunter Ray, who is coming off a two-homer, five-RBI performance in Sunday’s 13-12 win. The outfielder is 12 for 37 (.324) with four home runs and 15 RBIs over his last 10 games.

Marist (5-12) has found momentum by sweeping a three-game set from Saint Peter’s, outscoring the Peacocks 20-12. The Red Foxes had lost nine of 10 prior to the series.

A key contributor in the sweep was third baseman Connor Lawrence, who drove in three runs in Sunday’s 11-5 victory. Lawrence is 8 for 33 (.242) with seven RBIs in his last 10 contests.

Despite Marist’s superior strength of schedule, statistical projections are split. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 7-4 Knights victory, while its ELO rating system gives Marist a 58.8% probability to win.

The game is a standalone midweek contest before both teams return to action Wednesday. Fairleigh Dickinson hosts Saint Peter’s, while Marist travels to face Fordham.
