STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Interstat) — The Tarleton State Texans look to complete a series sweep when they host the Houston Christian Huskies in a nonconference baseball game Sunday afternoon at Tarleton Baseball Complex.

First pitch is scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2026, under clear skies with a game-time temperature near 70 degrees.

The Texans (11-5) have taken the first two games of the weekend set, winning both contests Friday and Saturday. They enter on a strong run, having won five of their last six games, including a road series win at New Mexico last weekend.

Houston Christian (8-8) aims to salvage the final game of the series and snap a two-game skid. The Huskies’ offense broke out in a 12-4 win at McNeese State on March 7 but has been held scoreless in the first two games in Stephenville.

A key matchup will feature Houston Christian’s hot-hitting Levi Castilleja against a Tarleton State pitching staff that has stifled Huskies’ bats. Castilleja, a catcher, is coming off a dominant performance against McNeese State where he went 4 for 5 with a home run and five RBIs. Over his last five games, he is 9 for 16 (.563) with seven RBIs.

Tarleton State will counter with right-hander Ethan Wendel, a player to watch on the mound. In his last start on March 8 at New Mexico, Wendel threw six no-hit innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out seven. He has not allowed a hit over his last 11 innings pitched spanning two appearances.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest projects to be a high-scoring affair, with a predicted final score of Houston Christian 8, Tarleton State 7.

Following Sunday’s game, Tarleton State travels to face Texas on Tuesday. Houston Christian returns home to host Texas-San Antonio on Tuesday.
