BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Interstat) — Lehigh upset Navy 3-1 in the Patriot League opener for both teams Friday at Legacy Park, riding a three-run third inning and stellar relief pitching to victory.

The Mountain Hawks (3-10) scored all their runs in the third off Navy starter Brady Bendik, who struck out 10 but allowed three earned runs. Raffaele Rogers and Aidan Quinn delivered RBI hits.

Lehigh reliever Sam Fairhurst earned the win, allowing one run over five innings with seven strikeouts after Christopher Nell started with four scoreless frames. Navy (12-5) scored its lone run in the sixth on a double play.

Navy managed five hits total. The teams continue their series Saturday.
