Cincinnati at BYU
PROVO, Utah (Interstat) — A hot Cincinnati team riding a seven-game win streak meets a BYU squad looking to build on a breakout offensive performance when the Big 12 foes open a series Thursday at Larry H. Miller Field.
First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon. The forecast calls for clear skies and a temperature of 39 degrees.
The Bearcats (14-4) arrive in strong form, coming off a 13-11 victory over Evansville on Tuesday. Cincinnati has not lost since Feb. 28.
A key catalyst is Enzo Infelise, who powered Tuesday’s win by going 3 for 4 with two home runs and five RBIs. Over his last 10 games, Infelise is batting .333 (10 for 30) with three homers and 11 RBIs.
The Cougars (7-8) are also fresh off an offensive explosion, having routed Utah Tech 19-2 on Tuesday. Ryker Schow led that charge, going 4 for 5 with two homers and a career-high six RBIs.
Despite Schow’s big game, BYU has struggled for consistency, losing three of its last five.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a Cincinnati victory, 8-4.
The teams will continue the series Friday and Saturday in Provo before the Bearcats head to nearby Orem for two games against Utah Valley. BYU will hit the road next week for a three-game Big 12 series at West Virginia.
