Massachusetts-Lowell at San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks will look to secure a series victory when they face the San Francisco Dons in the finale of a four-game set Monday at Dante Benedetti Diamond at Max Ulrich Field.

First pitch is scheduled for Monday afternoon under cloudy skies with temperatures near 69 degrees.

The River Hawks (3-6) evened the series with a 6-4 win on Sunday, powered by a strong pitching performance. Starter Jacob Jette earned the win, allowing four earned runs over six innings while striking out four. The bullpen combined for three perfect innings of relief.

San Francisco (7-7) aims to salvage a series split after dropping the last two games. In Sunday’s loss, starter Quentin Pohorski took the decision, giving up two earned runs on two hits over four innings.

Jette, a player to watch for the River Hawks, will look to build on his Sunday outing. In his previous start on Feb. 22, he pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings against Indiana State. For the Dons, Pohorski is a key figure. In his last two appearances, he has allowed just two earned runs over seven combined innings with seven strikeouts.

The series has been high-scoring, with the teams combining for 48 runs through the first three games. Massachusetts-Lowell won 18-7 on Saturday before San Francisco took the opener 8-5 on Friday.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projection for Monday’s contest is a 4-2 victory for the Dons.

Following the series, Massachusetts-Lowell continues its West Coast trip with a game at Sacramento State on Tuesday. San Francisco’s next action is a three-game series at UC Riverside beginning Friday.
