Miller Powers Pilots to Rout of Crusaders
PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — Nolan Miller homered and drove in five runs Saturday as the Portland Pilots rolled to a 13-3 victory over Holy Cross at Joe Etzel Field.
Miller’s three-run homer in the first inning erased an early Crusaders lead and set the tone. Portland never trailed again, adding multiple runs in the third, fifth, sixth and eighth innings. Trey Swygart homered and logged three scoreless relief innings for the win. Logan Anderson earned the win with five innings of two-run ball.
Van Coughlin homered for Holy Cross, which managed eight hits. The Crusaders fell to 4-10. Portland improved to 7-6, securing its third straight win in the series. The teams conclude their four-game set Sunday.
