TROY, Ala. (Interstat) — The Maryland Terrapins evened their weekend series with a 9-3 victory over the Troy Trojans on Saturday evening at Riddle–Pace Field.

Maryland seized control early as David Mendez hit a two-run homer in the first inning. Troy responded with three runs in the second, but the Terrapins’ bullpen silenced the Trojans thereafter. Logan Hastings starred in relief, striking out eight over three perfect innings. Nic Morlang followed with four strikeouts in two hitless frames.

Aden Hill and Rylen Stockton each homered for Maryland, which pounded out 13 hits. The Terrapins improved to 8-4, while Troy fell to 6-8.
