Morehead State at Butler

Rain Expected as Morehead State Visits Butler for Afternoon Contest

INDIANAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Morehead State Eagles and Butler Bulldogs are set to continue their weekend series Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Park, with wet weather in the forecast.

First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon of March 7, 2026, though the game could be played into the evening if delayed. The forecast calls for temperatures near 76 degrees with rain.

Morehead State (6-7) dominated the series opener Friday, routing Butler 16-6. The Eagles will look to build on that momentum, while the Bulldogs (2-8) aim to halt a skid that has seen them lose eight of their last nine games.

A player to watch for the Eagles is Kamden Hawks, who earned the win on the mound Friday. He pitched five innings, allowing four earned runs on zero hits with eight strikeouts. His recent outings have been inconsistent, including a difficult start against Winthrop on Feb. 21 where he failed to record an out.

Butler’s key contributor is shortstop Logan Crock, who provided most of the Bulldogs’ offense in Friday’s loss. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Crock is batting .250 (6 for 24) over his last eight games.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Morehead State 4, Butler 2.

The teams are scheduled to conclude the three-game series Sunday at Bulldog Park.

Morehead State’s next game: Sunday at Butler. Butler’s next game: Sunday vs. Morehead State.
