Navy Rallies With Seven-Run Seventh Inning to Stun Dartmouth in Game 1

CAPE SAINT CLAIRE, Md. (Interstat) — The Navy Midshipmen staged a stunning seven-run rally in the seventh inning to erase a seven-run deficit and defeat the Dartmouth Big Green 8-7 on Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.

Dartmouth built its lead behind A.J. DeMastrie, who homered and drove in three runs, and starter Nate Isler, who threw 6 1/3 hitless innings before Navy’s explosion. The Midshipmen sent 12 batters to the plate in the seventh, capitalizing on walks and key hits. Patrick Walsh and Ty DePerno each delivered two-run singles in the frame, with DePerno driving in the game-winning run.

The comeback victory improved Navy’s record to 9-4, while Dartmouth fell to 2-6.
