Stetson at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — The Arkansas Razorbacks, riding a strong 10-3 start, will open a four-game series against the visiting Stetson Hatters on Friday at Baum Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. under cloudy skies with temperatures near 68 degrees.

The Razorbacks, coming off a 10-2 midweek win over Oral Roberts, have won eight of their last ten games. Their offense is powered by outfielder Kuhio Aloy, who is 15 for his last 39 (.385) with two home runs and 14 RBIs over his past ten games. In Tuesday’s victory, Aloy went 2-for-5 with four RBIs.

Stetson (5-8) aims to rebound from a 12-4 loss at South Florida on Tuesday. The Hatters will look to left fielder Foster Apple, who has been a consistent producer. Apple is batting .405 (15-for-37) with 10 RBIs in his last ten contests, including a 2-for-4, three-RBI performance in the loss to USF.

On the mound, Arkansas’s staff has been formidable, posting a 2.85 team ERA. Relievers Tate McGuire and Mark Brissey combined for three perfect innings with five strikeouts in the team’s last outing. Stetson received solid relief work from Bryce Gluckman and Zane Coppersmith, who threw three combined hitless innings against the Bulls.

The series marks the first meeting between the programs since 2018. According to Interstat’s game simulator, Arkansas is projected to win Friday’s opener 7-5.

Following this series, Arkansas opens Southeastern Conference play at home against Mississippi State next weekend. Stetson continues its road swing before returning to DeLand for a series against North Florida.
