Saint Bonaventure at Marshall
BECKLEY, W.Va. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to climb back to .500 will meet under potentially wet skies Friday when the Saint Bonaventure Bonnies visit the Marshall Thundering Herd at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for March 6, 2026, with a forecast of 68 degrees and rain.
Saint Bonaventure (4-7) arrives after a high-scoring 14-9 loss at Kent State on Wednesday. The Bonnies’ offense was carried by Joey Calabretti, who went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs in the defeat. Calabretti, a key two-way player, has shown recent power but is batting .250 over his last five games played. On the mound, he has been effective in limited relief, throwing five scoreless innings with six strikeouts over two appearances this season.
Marshall (5-6) is riding momentum from a dominant 13-4 road win at Virginia Tech on Tuesday. Landen Doll delivered a standout performance on the mound, tossing six no-hit innings while allowing one earned run and striking out eight. The victory snapped a two-game skid for the Thundering Herd.
The Bonnies have struggled on the road this season, going 3-7 away from home. Their pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in six of their 11 games.
Marshall has found more success at home, posting a 3-2 record in Beckley. The Herd’s offense broke out for 13 runs on 12 hits in the win over Virginia Tech, with Cooper Hinson driving in three runs.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Marshall 4, Saint Bonaventure 3.
The game is the first of a three-game weekend series between the programs. They will meet again Saturday and Sunday in Beckley.
