Beattie’s Home Run Lifts Saint Louis Over Bradley in Tight Pitching Duel
ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — Chase Beattie’s solo home run in the sixth inning broke a tie and propelled the Saint Louis Billikens to a 2-1 victory over the Bradley Braves on Friday at Billiken Sports Center.
Bradley took a 1-0 lead in the third on Michael Quic’s RBI single, scoring Luke Skinner. Saint Louis tied it in the fourth on a sacrifice bunt by J. Canzoni before Beattie delivered the decisive blast.

Bradley’s Lou Levy and Ryan Schaffnit pitched 7 2/3 hitless innings in relief but absorbed the loss. Saint Louis improved to 5-9, while Bradley fell to 4-8.
