DALLAS (Interstat) — The Dallas Baptist Patriots look to continue their winning momentum when they host the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in a non-conference matchup Thursday at Ellis Davis Field House.

The Patriots (5-3) enter on a high note after a 6-1 road victory over Texas-Arlington on Tuesday, where their bullpen shined. Relievers Tate Hess, Max Luzarraga and Athan Kroll combined for 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit.

Oral Roberts (3-5) seeks to rebound from a difficult 13-1 loss at Missouri State on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have lost four of their last five games.

A key matchup will feature relievers who have shown recent effectiveness. For Oral Roberts, Dylan Christensen has been a bright spot, tossing three scoreless innings over his last two appearances, allowing no hits. Dallas Baptist’s Tate Hess has also been sharp lately, with 2 2/3 hitless innings in his last outing against Texas-Arlington.

The Patriots have found more consistent offense early, averaging over seven runs per game in their wins. Oral Roberts’ offense has struggled outside of a 9-run outburst at Abilene Christian last Friday, scoring three or fewer runs in five of their eight games.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Dallas Baptist is projected to win 6-4.

Following Thursday’s contest, both teams will host Air Force for a weekend series. They are also scheduled to meet again in Dallas on Saturday.
