San Jose State at San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The San Francisco Dons will look to even their weekend series and regain momentum when they host the San Jose State Spartans in a Sunday evening non-conference baseball matchup at Dante Benedetti Diamond at Max Ulrich Field.
First pitch is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, under forecast cloudy skies with temperatures near 58 degrees.
The series is knotted after a split of the first two games. San Francisco (4-2) won a 13-inning marathon 7-6 on Friday, but San Jose State (3-3) responded with a 7-3 victory on Saturday behind a strong relief outing from Luka Pintar and a four-RBI day from JC Osorio-Agard.
Pintar, a key player to watch for the Spartans, delivered 4 1/3 innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts in Saturday’s win. The Dons will counter with Adrian Valdez, who seeks redemption after a tough outing in the same game. Valdez took the loss Saturday despite not allowing a hit over four innings; he was charged with three earned runs, walking five.
The series finale features teams heading in opposite directions late in games. The Dons’ bullpen faltered Saturday, while the Spartans’ relievers, led by Pintar and David Thomas (4.2 IP, 5 K), sealed the win.
Interstat’s projections offer a split decision. The organization’s game simulator predicts a 7-5 victory for the home-standing Dons. However, its ELO rating system gives a slight edge to the Spartans, projecting them with a 51.7% probability to win.
Following Sunday’s contest, San Francisco begins a four-game home set against California Baptist on Thursday. San Jose State travels to face Saint Mary’s for a four-game series starting next Thursday.
