EAST LANSING, Mich. (Interstat) — Thomas Harper threw 4 1-3 innings of hitless relief and the Illinois State Redbirds used a four-home run outburst to defeat the Michigan State Spartans 6-3 on Friday afternoon. The Redbirds improved to 31-21, while the Spartans fell to 21-31. Illinois State collected 13 hits, three more than Michigan State, and never trailed after scoring six runs in the first inning.
