AUBURN, Ala. (Interstat) — Ethin Bingaman homered three times and drove in seven runs to lead Auburn to a 14-4 victory over Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon at Samford Stadium – Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park. The game was called after eight innings due to the mercy rule.

Bingaman, a first baseman, finished 3-for-5 with a solo home run in the third inning, a three-run shot in the fourth and another three-run homer in the eighth. His performance powered the Tigers to their 30th win of the season against 13 losses. Oklahoma fell to 29-14.

Eric Guevara also starred for Auburn, going 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the third, doubled again in the fourth and homered in the sixth. Chase Fralick contributed a two-run homer in the third inning and finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Bub Terrell added a solo home run in the second inning and a double, going 2-for-4.

Auburn starter Alex Petrovic earned the win, allowing two earned runs on four hits over six innings with three strikeouts. Ryan Hetzler pitched two innings of relief, giving up one run on one hit with one strikeout.

Oklahoma took an early lead, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. J. Walk led off with a hit by pitch and advanced to second on a walk by D. Lachance. J. Willits singled to drive in Walk, and C. Johnson doubled to bring home Lachance and Willits. The Sooners added a run in the second when D. Tockey doubled and later scored on a walk and a pickoff attempt that went awry, though the scoring summary shows only four runs total.

Auburn responded in the bottom of the second when Terrell homered to center. The Tigers tied the game in the third. Guevara singled, and Fralick followed with a two-run homer to right. Bingaman then tied the score with a solo shot to left.

The Tigers took the lead for good in the fourth. C. Carter walked, advanced on an error by Oklahoma pitcher J. Bodin, and scored on Guevara’s double to left-center. After a walk to Fralick, Bingaman crushed a three-run homer to right-center, making it 8-4.

Auburn added two more runs in the sixth. M. McCraine singled, and Guevara homered to right. The Sooners’ Nolan Stevens hit a pinch-hit solo homer in the eighth, but Auburn answered with four runs in the bottom half. McCraine doubled, Guevara was hit by a pitch, and Fralick singled to load the bases. C. Rembert reached on a fielder’s choice that scored McCraine. Bingaman then capped his day with another three-run homer to left-center, ending the game.

Several Oklahoma pitchers struggled. Cord Rager started and allowed four earned runs in three innings despite giving up no hits, hampered by walks and an error. Gavyn Jones surrendered two earned runs in 1 2/3 innings. Nick Wesloski tossed two-thirds of a scoreless inning.

Oklahoma had planned to even the series after winning 2-1 on Saturday, but Auburn’s explosive offense prevailed. The Sooners managed seven hits, including doubles by Johnson and Tockey and a homer by Stevens. Auburn collected 13 hits.
