Holy Cross at Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Interstat) — The Brown Bears, holding a winning record in nonconference play, will host the Holy Cross Crusaders in a regional midweek matchup Tuesday evening at Murray Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. under cloudy skies with temperatures near 67 degrees.

Brown (15-13) enters having won seven of its last 10, including a 7-5 victory at Dartmouth on Sunday. Logan Meusy powered that win, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. The left fielder is a key bat for a Bears offense that has posted four shutout wins this season.

Holy Cross (16-18) looks to rebound from a 12-4 loss at Bucknell on Sunday. Despite the defeat, second baseman Alex Sandell drove in three runs. Sandell has been a consistent run producer for the Crusaders, collecting 14 RBIs over his last 10 games, including a three-RBI performance on April 8 in a walk-off win over Stonehill.

The Crusaders’ recent schedule has been heavy, playing 10 games since March 29. They took three of four in a series at Bucknell last weekend before the Sunday loss.

Brown’s pitching staff has shown strength, highlighted by Sunday’s combined effort from Dylan Reid (six innings) and Christian Keel against Dartmouth. The Bears have allowed three or fewer runs in six of their last nine victories.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, favoring Brown 7-6.

Following this game, Holy Cross begins a Patriot League series against Navy on Friday. Brown opens Ivy League play with a home series against Columbia starting Saturday.
