Bulldogs Overpower Trojans Behind Early Offensive Surge
RUSTON, La. (Interstat) — Louisiana Tech erupted for four first-inning runs and never trailed, defeating Arkansas-Little Rock 9-3 in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday evening at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
The Bulldogs sent nine men to the plate in the first, capitalizing on walks and key hits, including a two-run single by Casey McCoy, to erase an early deficit. McCoy finished 3 for 3 with two RBIs.
Arkansas-Little Rock’s Angel Cano provided all the Trojans’ offense with two solo home runs. Five Trojans relievers combined for 6 1/3 scoreless innings, but the early hole proved too deep. Louisiana Tech improved to 22-16, while the Trojans fell to 20-17.
