Sanders, Offense Lead Auburn to Series Win Over Arkansas

AUBURN, Ala. (Interstat) — Jackson Sanders struck out eight over four dominant innings of relief and Brandon McCraine drove in three runs as Auburn defeated Arkansas 8-3 on Saturday evening at Samford Stadium-Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park.

The Tigers, who improved to 22-9 overall and evened the Southeastern Conference series, erased an early 3-0 deficit with two runs in the second inning and three more in the third. McCraine’s two-run double keyed the second-inning rally, and he added an RBI single in the third.

Sanders entered in the sixth and stifled the Razorbacks, allowing just one hit. Auburn’s bullpen combined for five scoreless frames after starter Alex Petrovic yielded three runs over five innings. Bub Terrell and Chase Fralick added solo homers for the Tigers.

Arkansas (20-13) managed only four hits, scoring all its runs on a groundout and a two-run single by Turner in the second inning.
