Peterson’s Gem Leads Milwaukee Past Youngstown State in Horizon League Matchup

MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — Riley Peterson struck out nine over seven dominant innings, allowing just two hits and one run, to power the Milwaukee Panthers to a 5-1 victory over the Youngstown State Penguins in a Horizon League baseball game Saturday.

Milwaukee scored three times in the first inning, highlighted by RBI doubles from Bradyn Horn and Charlie Marion. An unearned run in the second and an RBI single from Joey Spence in the sixth provided ample support. Peterson earned the win, while Youngstown State starter Brandon Mikos took the loss.

The Penguins managed only two hits total, scoring their lone run on a bases-loaded walk in the seventh. Milwaukee improved to 6-21 overall, while Youngstown State fell to 3-24.
