MORAGA, Calif. (Interstat) — The Saint Mary’s Gaels scored four unanswered runs, including three in the eighth inning, to erase an early deficit and defeat the Pacific Tigers 6-4 on Friday evening at Louis Guisto Field.

Pacific built a 4-0 lead by the third inning behind a sacrifice fly and an RBI double from Levi Sotomayor. Saint Mary’s chipped away, highlighted by a two-run homer from Diego Castellanos in the fourth.

The game was tied in the eighth when Jarren Mettam’s RBI single plated the go-ahead run. Nick Allred followed with an RBI double and later scored on a sacrifice fly. Pacific’s Brendan O’Sullivan hit a two-run double in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough.

Saint Mary’s improved to 14-13. Pacific fell to 10-18.
