Stetson Rallies Past UCF Behind Strong Bullpen

DELAND, Fla. (Interstat) — The Stetson Hatters erased an early four-run deficit and rode a dominant bullpen performance to an 8-4 victory over the UCF Knights on Tuesday night at Melching Field.

UCF built a 4-0 lead before Stetson batted, but the Hatters responded with four runs in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game, highlighted by Landon Russell’s two-run double. Stetson took the lead for good in the third on another RBI from Russell.

Five Stetson relievers combined for seven scoreless innings after the first. Ethan Phillips, Dallis Moran, Zane Coppersmith and Joel Core shut down the Knights, allowing just two hits. Roman Kimball provided two hitless innings in relief for UCF.

Andrew Williamson hit a two-run homer for UCF in the eighth. Samuel Fernandez drove in two runs for Stetson.

Stetson improved to 12-14. UCF fell to 15-8.
