Ball State at Southern Indiana
Preview: Ball State Cardinals at Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — A pair of teams riding the momentum of weekend series wins will meet Tuesday when the Ball State Cardinals visit the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles in nonconference baseball action at the Physical Activities Center.
First pitch is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026, under forecasted cloudy skies.
The Cardinals (12-10) arrive after taking two of three on the road at Western Michigan, capped by a 7-5 victory Sunday. The Screaming Eagles (15-9) are coming off a dominant 12-0 shutout of Western Illinois on Sunday to secure their series win.
The matchup features two standout pitchers in contrasting roles. Ball State will look to right-hander John Chambers, who has been exceptional out of the bullpen. In Sunday’s win, Chambers delivered 5 1/3 hitless innings of relief, striking out seven. Over his last six appearances, he has allowed just seven hits and two earned runs over 20 2/3 innings, fanning 27 batters.
Southern Indiana will counter with right-hander Ean DiPasquale, who is expected to start. DiPasquale is coming off a strong seven-inning start in Sunday’s win, allowing four hits and no runs. In a March 14 outing at Southern Illinois, he carried a no-hit bid into the eighth inning, finishing with 7 2/3 innings of two-run ball and seven strikeouts.
Offensively, Southern Indiana’s Noah Foster, who went 3 for 3 with an RBI in the Sunday rout, will look to stay hot. Ball State’s lineup will aim to provide early support for Chambers after scoring 15 runs in its last two games.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Ball State 7, Southern Indiana 5.
Following Tuesday’s contest, Ball State opens Mid-American Conference play at home against Ohio on Friday. Southern Indiana hits the road to begin a series at Arkansas-Little Rock, also on Friday.
