Saint Bonaventure at Penn State

Cold, Wet Conditions Await Bonnies, Nittany Lions in Midweek Clash

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (March 24, 2026) (Interstat) — Two teams looking to build on rare victories will meet under bleak conditions Tuesday when Saint Bonaventure visits Penn State at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. EDT in a game forecast for 38-degree temperatures and rain.

The Bonnies (5-16) snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 14-3 rout of Saint Louis on Sunday. The Nittany Lions (6-15) ended a five-game skid with a 14-9 win at Purdue the same day.

Both lineups feature hot hitters aiming to power their teams to consecutive wins. Saint Bonaventure first baseman Christian LaMothe drove in five runs, including a home run, in Sunday’s win. Over his last 10 games, he is batting .324 (11-for-34) with two homers and nine RBIs.

Penn State will counter with infielder Bryce Molinaro, who went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs against Purdue. He has three homers and seven RBIs in his last 10 contests.

The simulated projection from Interstat favors a low-scoring, pitcher-friendly affair, predicting a 2-1 Penn State victory.

Saint Bonaventure’s Sunday win was fueled by LaMothe, catcher Antonio Cordeiro (3-for-5, 3 RBIs) and starter Enger Paulino, who struck out eight over 6 2/3 innings. The Bonnies had lost their previous seven games by a combined score of 81-30.

Penn State’s offense erupted for 14 hits in its win at Purdue, led by Molinaro, designated hitter Michael Anderson (2-for-6, HR, 3 RBIs) and corner infielder Spencer Barnett (3-for-6, 2 RBIs). The Nittany Lions had scored just seven total runs in their previous five games.

Following Tuesday’s game, Saint Bonaventure opens Atlantic 10 play at VCU on Friday. Penn State hosts Bucknell on Wednesday before beginning a Big Ten series against Illinois at home Friday.
