Oakland at Michigan

Cold Night Clash Awaits as Wolverines Host Golden Grizzlies

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Interstat) — The Michigan Wolverines look to climb back above .500 when they host the struggling Oakland Golden Grizzlies in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday evening at Ray Fisher Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. EDT under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near freezing at 36 degrees Fahrenheit.

Michigan (11-11) enters after dropping two of three at home to Nebraska, including a 9-5 loss Sunday. The Wolverines’ bullpen will be in focus, with right-hander Cade Montgomery a key figure. Montgomery has been inconsistent, allowing one earned run over 3 1/3 innings Sunday but surrendering 10 runs in a relief appearance at UCLA on March 13.

Oakland (4-17) snapped a three-game skid with an 8-4 win over Northern Kentucky on Sunday. Shortstop Kyle Revere powered that victory, going 3 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs. He has driven in eight runs over his last five games and leads the Golden Grizzlies’ offense.

The Golden Grizzlies have found wins scarce, especially away from home, and face a Michigan team that is 7-4 in Ann Arbor this season.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a narrow 4-3 victory for the Wolverines.

Following this midweek contest, Michigan hosts Toledo on Wednesday before opening Big Ten play at Rutgers this weekend. Oakland continues its road swing with a three-game series at Wright State starting Friday.
