Miami (Ohio) Routs Dayton 14‑4 Behind Early Barrage, Benko’s Stellar Relief
DAYTON, Ohio (Interstat) — The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks scored early and often Tuesday evening, cruising to a 14-4 victory over the Dayton Flyers at Woerner Field.
Miami (15-8) batted around in a seven-run first inning and never looked back, finishing with 11 hits. Tommy Harrison went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Mason Breidenbach drove in three runs on a seventh-inning triple.
Dayton (14-10) managed seven hits, including a solo home run and two RBIs from Jason Bello. Redhawks reliever Troy Benko was dominant, throwing 3 1/3 hitless innings with two strikeouts to stifle any Flyers rally.
The win gave Miami a two-game season sweep of Dayton after a 13-7 victory last Wednesday.
