Mercer at Florida A&M

Preview: Mercer Bears at Florida A&M Rattlers

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 17, 2026) (Interstat) — The surging Mercer Bears, boasting one of the nation’s top records, will face the Florida A&M Rattlers in a non-conference evening matchup Tuesday at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. under cloudy skies with temperatures near 53 degrees.

Mercer (17-3) enters on a hot streak, having won 10 of its last 11 games despite a 16-10 loss at Tennessee Tech on Sunday. The Bears’ offense has been potent, scoring 10 or more runs in seven of those 11 contests.

A key catalyst has been shortstop Titan Kamaka. Over his last 10 games, he is batting .400 (16 for 40) with two home runs and 14 RBIs. He drove in four runs in Sunday’s loss.

Florida A&M (7-11) looks to build momentum after taking two of three from Southern at home over the weekend, including a 10-6 victory Sunday. Shortstop Matthew Perez powered that win, going 4 for 5 with two home runs and six RBIs.

The Rattlers’ offense will need similar production to challenge a Mercer team that has dominated the recent series. The Bears swept a two-game set from FAMU in late February, winning 7-0 and 5-1.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a Mercer victory, 8-4.

Mercer will begin Southern Conference play this weekend with a three-game series against The Citadel. Florida A&M opens Southwestern Athletic Conference action on the road at Arkansas-Pine Bluff starting Friday.

Probable Starters: TBA.

Series Note: Mercer leads the season series 2-0.

Weather: 53°F, cloudy.
